Nonprofit Security Grant Program

Protecting Your People. Strengthening Your Ministry. Stewarding Resources Wisely.

Churches and faith-based nonprofits are increasingly facing real security concerns—ranging from vandalism and theft to threats motivated by hate or violence. The Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) is a federal grant designed to help eligible nonprofits enhance the safety and security of their facilities and the people they serve. Kingdom Come Consulting partners with churches and faith-based nonprofits to navigate this highly competitive grant from start to finish—so you can focus on ministry while we handle the complexity.

What Is the Nonprofit Security Grant Program?

The Nonprofit Security Grant Program, administered by FEMA through state agencies, provides reimbursable grant funding (often up to $200,000 per site) for eligible security improvements at nonprofit facilities that are at risk of terrorist attacks or targeted violence.

Eligible expenses may include:

  • Security cameras and monitoring systems
  • Access control systems (key fobs, badge readers, secure entry points)
  • Exterior and interior security lighting
  • Fencing, gates, and barriers
  • Alarm systems and panic buttons
  • Security planning, training, and risk assessments

Faith-based organizations are explicitly eligible, and churches are among the most frequent applicants nationwide.

Who is Eligible for These Grants?

You may be eligible to apply if your organization:

  • Is a registered nonprofit (including churches and ministries)
  • Owns or rents a physical facility
  • Can demonstrate that your organization is at risk due to its mission, visibility, location, or past incidents

Proving “risk” is one of the most critical—and misunderstood—parts of the application. This is where expert guidance makes a meaningful difference.
